Duties: Constructs, erects, installs and repairs structures and fixtures using such materials as wood, wallboard, or drywall. Reads blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine type of work required, layout, and materials needed. Erects framework for structure and lays subfloor board. Erects scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures. Builds and/or installs partitions, doors, framework, stairs, mantles, cabinets, or other wooden fixtures. Installs structures or fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, trim, and hardware. Constructs forms or chutes for pouring concrete. Uses levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure. Finishes surfaces of woodwork or wallboard in houses or buildings.
